I just found out about a food event happening NOW in Orlando and wanted to give it a quick mention here in the blog. Orlando Weekly has teamed up with some great local restaurants that’ll offer special prix fixe menus for the whole month of June. If you are familiar with Magical Dining Month that happens every September here in Orlando, then this looks just like a smaller scale of that event. The only difference is that Bite30 offers only local Orlando restaurants, so you’ll have to wait for Magical Dining Month if you would like to try out some chain restaurants and well-known brands. Here are the Bite30 details:
How it works:
Check out the list of participating restaurants below and choose if you would like to have lunch for $15 or dinner for $30. Call the restaurant to make a reservation just in case and upon arrival ask for the Bite30 menu. That’s all. You’ll get to choose an appetizer, entree and dessert from a smaller pre-set menu that offers less items than the regular menu. Also, food substitutions are usually allowed without extra charge. So make sure to ask if you are substituting any items in your dish.
Is it worth it?
By looking at the list of restaurants, most all of them seem to be located in Downtown Orlando, which I am usually not a fan of because there’s always traffic getting there and you have to worry about finding parking, paying for parking and all. But that’s just me. If you work in downtown, near the area or don’t mind going there, I think it would be cool to try out some new places. Just make sure to look at the Bite30 menu of the restaurant you are interested in before you go, because I find some restaurants offer a much better value than others. The menu for Kabooki Sushi for example didn’t impress me at all for $30. But the menu for KASA, which I love, has definitely got my attention.
Overall, I have tried a few of the participating restaurants before and really enjoyed their food, so I would definitely be willing to give Bite30 a try.

Have you guys heard of the Bite30 event before? I’m really interested in checking out a few of these places, so if you have tried any of the participating restaurants and loved it, please leave a comment letting me know so I can add it to my list! Thanks for reading, guys.
